2 scripts, same page, neither loads

hey, been scratching my head over this for a couple hours, see if yall can give insight. its been forever since i have touched js, so i have a script my dad wants to work on both sides of his main header, if you have one on a page, it works fine, put on the 2nd and it dies. i figured it was overlapping variables, or function names so i went through and added a '2' to each variable and function name, but still no dice. same effect. actually now after some more messing around, if i have just the one on the left on the page, it loads and works, if i add in the one on the right only the right one works. its alot of code down here but any help would be greatly appreciated. and remembered, its double, so only half as long as it looks Untitled Document // CREDITS: // Image Scroller 2.03 with How can I speed up my load time?

The code posted at the following url is functional but cumbersome. Due to the multiple large images the page takes too long to load. It is needed to be posted as a discription of an item sold at a popular auction website. Therefore all code must be contained and no external .js or .css files. http://jsfiddle.net/mdcj7670/HU468/

Need images to display on webpage as they are uploaded onto the server

Hi all I am hoping that someone can help in an area I have little knowledge in. Ajax. At least I think this problem requires Ajax but I'm open to any solution. The issue is this: I need images to load onto a webpage as they are uploaded to the server. This is sort of a photo kiosk web app that currently functions with a page refresh to load all new images. The idea would be that the user could see a new photo loaded to the screen as soon as it is uploaded to my server (without refresh. sort of a live-photo stream). Any thoughts or does anyone have a thread they can point me to Muchas gracias. -walkblind

how to upload images and file via ajax/ javascript?

I would like to know how you can upload images and files via ajax. I know there is a iframe workaround. I tried understanding this tutorial: http://bytes.com/top...mage-using-ajax can't understand it. from what I understood. You need to make an iframe. the iframe will have your php file that will upload the file. the html form will point to this iframe that will toss whatever variables selected to that php file inside the iframe. Now I don't know if you need to have 2 iframes... it shows 2 methods one only allows one upload at a time the other allows either unlimited or max of 4 uploads at a time. I would like to understand exactly what's going on in the background. How does the file get uploaded from the html form to the iframe php file. to me it sounds like when the person submits the html form instead of using the link to the php file which would result by redirecting the user to that php file. To abvoid tha redirection you make an iframe that in hidden. that way instead of redirecting the user to the php file. it will toss the submitted images or files to that iframe which would have a php file embedded in it and hidden from view. This is my take of it. I tried 5 times trying to upload a image and file via these methods but it never worked. so I am trying it again after 2 months of giving up. I put that project to the side. Now I am back at it. any ideas

JQuery loading content into DIV problem

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I created a horizontal unordered list with about 20 line items, there are 4 rows of 5 line items, and when you click on one of the line items, content from another HTML file is loaded into an empty placeholder div underneath the list. Basically what I did was, for each line item, I created a separate, corresponding HTML to load in the placeholder div once it's clicked. The empty placeholder is at the bottom of the page so to see it, the user will have to scroll down..... But here is my problem, when I click on a new line item, the content loads in the placeholder div, but the page SCROLLS BACK TO THE TOP! Making it very annoying for users wanting to click through each line item. They will have to keep scrolling down to see what they clicked. Does anyone know a way to stop the browser from scrolling to top when a line item is clicked... The JQUERY I used looks like this $(function() { $('#links a').click(function() { $('#links a').removeClass('active');//must add this to clear away any 'active' classes... $(this).addClass('active'); var url = $(this).attr('href'); $('#company_profile').load(url).hide().fadeIn(1000); return false; }); //end click function }); //end document.ready Thank you for any help...I appreciate it.

playlist loader for flv player.

I am developing a website based on tutorial videos. I have my flv player embeded on my members page but require a javascript that will do the following: 1. display a video playlist in a scroll box. 2. load the same playlist to the player. 3. allow the user to randomly select a video from the playlist to view 4. allow the playlist to be changed to another playlist 5. disable the Download to Realplayer popup button. If the above can be done using the flashvars I would need to know how I can write the flashvars to the flvplayer. If I posted this in the wrong forum please suggest the correct forum to post this in. Thank You.
