** VIDEO SPEECH OF PAKISTANIAN CHIEF JUSTICE REQUESTED ***

The nexus between 911 truth movement and its success is closely related to the democratic victory in Pakistan. The Pakistanian Military Dictator, a foolish patsy of Bush-Neocon- Crime Syndicate, provided critical validation to the 911 LIE by implicitly buckling under ...

binary files: copying jpeg or video files

Hi all. I have created the below code to copy text files, and would now like to write code to copy non-text files(pics, music, video). I think that I need to use fread() and fwrite() for binary files. Something like: Code: while((fread(...)) != NULL) fwrite(...) But I don't know how to determine the size and n x size arguments for fread() and fwrite(). So I have some questions: 1. How do I know if a jpg or video file is made up of int or float etc 2. Do I need code to detect the size of a file 3. Can I use fseek() or feof() to detect the size of a file 4. Do I actually need to use fread() & fwrite() or are there better functions for the job

I made a video showing how to debug a C program In XP

Debug C in Windows XP. - YouTube It's not fancy, but it shows you how to debug a C program in Windows XP using Dev C++ by bloodshed SW. If you debug SW you can see how the SW runs step by step, like domino's. It's in 720p, so watch it in that resolution.

Help with naming convention requested

I have a particular case where I'm having a problem deciding on a good naming convention. Basically, I have several classes which are split in two: there is a base class, which is a POD (designed to support static initialization) and has only const functions; and a derived class, which has the usual constructors, and various non-const functions. A good example of this is SetOfCharacter for UTF8: the base class has functions like: template< typename ForwardIterator > bool isSet( ForwardIterator begin, ForwardIterator end ) const ; (where the iterators designate a sequence of UTF-8 characters, and the function returns true for the first character in the sequence), and a function: void dumpAsCpp( std:stream& dest ) const ; which outputs a declaration of the class with algomerate initialization (with all of the necessary sub-tables in anonymous namespace). The derived class has all of the classical constructors, and the non-const operators, which build and modify the data structure. The separation is essential because it allows such objects to be statically initialized and thus avoids order of initialization problems. It is also useful in a few cases for performance reasons: one application uses several thousand such objects, and dynamic construction can take a significant amount of time. For the moment, I've named the classes: BasicSetOfCharacter (POD base class) and SetOfCharacter (derived class). I'm not particularly happy with this, since it means that functions taking a const reference really have to take a BasicSetOfCharacter const&. Other alternatives I've considered are ConstSetOfCharacter/SetOfCharacter and SetOfCharacter/DynamicSetOfCharacter, but I'm open to other suggestions as well. I'm just curious as to what other programmers think. What would be a good naming convention for this sort of thing (I'd also consider a good solution which doesn't involve two different classes, but I don't think it's possible, since one has to be a POD, and the other must at the very least have a destructor, since the data structure must be built up dynamically, and I'm not guaranteed to have garbage collection available.) -- James Kanze (GABI Software) email:james.kanze@gmail.com Conseils en informatique oriente objet/ Beratung in objektorientierter Datenverarbeitung 9 place Smard, 78210 St.-Cyr-l'cole, France, +33 (0)1 30 23 00 34

design opinions requested

I have a design opinion. I have 3 models in mind, and I don't particularly like them, so maybe someone can suggest or help justify. I have a set of essentially unrelated classes (about 6). class Foo; class Bar; class Bat; I have a container-ish class that holds many of those other classes and other meta-data: class Stuff { public: vector foos; vector bars; vector bats; } So here's the problem. I need to store the unrelated classes in a somewhat related way. I need to sort them all together in insert order, for later retrieval. What I mean is that later, I need to walk the container somehow and pull out al the Foos, Bars, and Bats, intermingled with each other, in the order they were inserted. So, I have dreamed up three answers, none of which I really like. 1) Make a generic base class, Stuff_Item, which is a base class for Foo, Bar, Bat, etc. Store all Foo, Bar, Bat in a single vector. Stuff_Item::stuff_type() returns and enum that callers use to determine the type of the thing held. Callers then up-cast. 2) Make a generic base class, Stuff_Item, which is not a base class, and which has methods stuff_type() and stuff_index(). stuff_type returns an enum that callers use to determine the type of the thing held. stuff_index returns an index (or an iterator) into a type- specific vector. Keep a seperate vector of Stuff_Items. Callers can then use that as a (database-style) index. 3) Make a Stuff::Item inner class, which holds an enum of pointers to Foo, Bar, Bat.. That inner class exposes is_foo(), is_bar(), is_bat() methods, and get_foo(), get_bar(), get_bat() methods. Just store one vector of Stuff::Item. Thoughs, justifications, other ideas
