Set Focus in a textbox when moving between tabbed pages

rated by 0 users I've got a form that has seven tabs along the top.  When the form loads initially, there's only one textbox on the first tab & focus is set to that textbox.  I find when I move between the various tabs then come back to the initial (main) tab, the cursor is very merrilly blinking at me from within a label control!  I've tried to re-set focus into the textbox using several different methods, none of which are working for me: Private Sub Main_Tab_Activate()Me.Links___Tracking_number.SetFocus End Sub Private Sub Main_Tab_Click()Me.Links___Tracking_number.SetFocus End Sub Private Sub Main_Tab_Enter()Me.Links___Tracking_number.SetFocus End Sub Nothing is working for me!  Any suggestions, folks 'preciate your help.

Automatically display sum of textboxes in a 3rd textbox

Good afternoon, Title says it all. I have a series of textboxes that contain a number value. I need for a separate textbox to populate the sum AUTOMATICALLY. Right now I am using an Enter command which will only populate the sum when the user clicks in the textbox. Is there anyway to have it populate automatically   Below is the code i am currently using. Private Sub DelayDays_enter()DelayDays.Value = Val(Total1.Value) + Val(Total2.Value) + Val(Total3.Value) + Val(Total4.Value) + Val(Total5.Value) + Val(Total6.Value) + Val(Total7.Value) + Val(Total8.Value) + Val(Total9.Value) + Val(Total10.Value)End Sub

[RESOLVED] VS 2003 Reading value in textbox in coding?

  people,   I have a pretty simple question really :/ I have created my program which has one command button and two textboxes.  Textbox1 holds a value and textbox2 will show the output (textbox 2 is multiline).  The command button simply runs cmd and shows the output in textbox2, but the problem I have is currently I have to enter the value in textbox1 in the coding rather than have the coding read the value.   Here is a quick example:- Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click         Dim myProcess As Process = New Process         Dim s As String         myProcess.StartInfo.FileName = "c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe"         myProcess.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False         myProcess.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = True         myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = True         myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True         myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardError = True         myProcess.Start()           Dim sIn As System.IO.StreamWriter = myProcess.StandardInput         Dim sOut As System.IO.StreamReader = myProcess.StandardOutput         Dim sErr As System.IO.StreamReader = myProcess.StandardError           sIn.AutoFlush = True         sIn.Write("ping 192.168.1.1" & System.Environment.NewLine)         sIn.Write("exit" & System.Environment.NewLine)         s = sOut.ReadToEnd()           If Not myProcess.HasExited Then             myProcess.Kill()         End If         cmdOutputTextBox.Text = s         cmdOutputTextBox.Visible = True         sIn.Close()         sOut.Close()         sErr.Close()         myProcess.Close()     End Sub   The above works perfect as I put in the Ip address in the coding :- )   Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click         Dim myProcess As Process = New Process         Dim s As String         myProcess.StartInfo.FileName = "c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe"         myProcess.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False         myProcess.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = True         myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = True         myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True         myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardError = True         myProcess.Start()           Dim sIn As System.IO.StreamWriter = myProcess.StandardInput         Dim sOut As System.IO.StreamReader = myProcess.StandardOutput         Dim sErr As System.IO.StreamReader = myProcess.StandardError           sIn.AutoFlush = True         sIn.Write("ping textbox1.text" & System.Environment.NewLine)         sIn.Write("exit" & System.Environment.NewLine)         s = sOut.ReadToEnd()           If Not myProcess.HasExited Then             myProcess.Kill()         End If         cmdOutputTextBox.Text = s         cmdOutputTextBox.Visible = True         sIn.Close()         sOut.Close()         sErr.Close()         myProcess.Close()     End Sub   The above fails, I have tried putting “” around “textbox1.text” but it still fails :- (

store username in textbox in Outlook form

Hi Situation: I am composing an Outlook form with textfield in which I would like to store usernames of users that edit the form (form has other textfields that are completed by users). I would like the textfield to look like this: Username ---> Username ---> Username ---> etc. You can think of it as of approval flow. Problem: Only first username is stored - when I open the form and send it to another user he sees me in textbox but when he edits the form and forwards it to someone else he is not seen in textbox, only me (the orgiginator). Code: Here is the code I used to accomplish this: Function Item_send() Set MyPage = Item.GetInspector.ModifiedFormPages("P.2") MyPage.Controls("TextBox20").value = TextBox20 & " ---> " & Application.GetNamespace("MAPI").CurrentUser End Function As far as I know it should be called every time the message/form is sent, but it seems to run only once - when you send the form for first time, therefore only the originator username is stored in textfield. Any ideas what could be the problem here

I hope you got it what I want. It is similar to name searching in mobile phone or in Outlook Address book search. For example, when I type "foo" in text box then my list box items should be look like below.foo1     ==> This should be selected.foo2_bar1bar1_foo1baz_bar_foowithout_search_word_name1without_search_word_name2without_search_word_name3Any idea would be much appreciated

Using Richtextbox as a "template"?

Hi all,  I have data coming from a database that needs to be outputted to the user. Regardless of what data needs to be displayed, I'd like it to appear in a richtextbox in a consistent manner. I am using a RTB because I want to make it almost look like a word document, only on the fly.  Is there a way I can use a template The output would be pretty difficult to "style" on the fly, as it would look like this:  Name:  DOB:  Location:  Job Opportunities:    Perhaps like "{b}"

textbox align to Datagridview column

Maybe a little late, you could use the following function to find out the offset of the column : Public Function nColumnLeft(ByVal cCol As String) As Long Dim n As Long = 0 For Each oCol As DataGridViewColumn In Me.Columns If oCol.Name = cCol Then Exit For n += oCol.Width Next Return n End Function "Me" being the dgv and cCol the name of the column you wish to get the offset for. Hope this helps. dp.SyntaxHighlighter.ClipboardSwf = '/dp.SyntaxHighlighter/Scripts/clipboard.swf' dp.SyntaxHighlighter.Highlight('a9159e003f694f0ebc2fe1d3d4bc3c7b')

{Resolved} Remove Carriage Return Character in a textbox.

,I have a text box that the user copies text into from an e-mail program. The box is about 104 characters across (horizontal) with multiple lines, but when it's copied from an e-mail program the carriage returns are actually making the text shorter. 1. Example of the way it should be: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 2710101754414015796F7E7E667D6415543C1C011640561415071F1111465C14071010175441405201091F0D11565657061C030011465B5D07451E11424152531145121A55 Example of the way it comes out of the e-mail program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 I would like to be able to do is remove the carriage returns from the end of each line so that it fills up the text box as example number one. Because the length is not as example number one the program crashes due to the smaller length in example number two. Any ideas how I can go about fixing this Any help is greatly appreciated.
